FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

Aspen Camps
  1. Are new demo skis available? Yes. Demo skis are provided as part of the Camp Plus package, along with an indoor lesson. We make arrangements for you to pick them up.
  2. What do I do if I have problems with my skis? Check with the Gorsuch rental shop.
  3. How about boots? Consult Mark Rolfes (970-319-8897) in our studio.
  4. Should I tip my coaches? If you have a favorite coach, a token of appreciation is always appropriate as a good skiing experience is like fine dining. (Please note that the coaches share their tips. Johnny C turns all tips over to his coaches..)
  5. Where do I get skis? If you are getting demo skis as part of a Camp Plus program, get your skis at Gorsuch by 7:00 pm on the evening before camp or at 8:30 am the first morning.
  6. Where do we meet the first day? All campers meet at the Sundeck indoors at the top of Aspen Mountain. We ride the gondola by 9:10 and meet inside the Sundeck at 9:30 to overview the camp and talk about goals.
  7. What about lunch? We aim for a 1:00 lunch at the Sundeck (or at the Merry-Go-Round at Highlands).
  8. Where are the good happy hours? The bar at the Little Nell is one of the best for Après. A little bit quieter spot is the Grape Bar at the Hyatt.
  9. Where's the best place to eat? Top of the line, you can't beat Piñions or Cache Cache. For a good dinner at a more reasonable price, try Jimmy’s or the bar menu at L'Hosteria.
  10. What about the closing party? The last day of camp we have an après-ski party for video analysis, final interaction with your coaches and fellow campers, and an awards ceremony. This takes place at BB's Kitchen or the Limelight where we have nibbles and a cash bar.
