More Information for the Portillo Camp
- Upon arrival, you will have time for afternoon skiing or for those who want to rest; there are spa services available, a huge hot tub, pool, and the bar/dining room is open.
- Dinner: Evening wear is 'Aspen Casual'. Ladies can dress-up as desired. Sport coats are ok for men, but certainly not required. Chino, our apres expert, wears 'nice jeans' and a dress shirt to dinner. Chino says after-ski boots are not necessary as there is no place to walk in them.
- Lunch: Tio Bob's, a beautiful ski-in, ski-out, 'reasonable' lunch château is on the mountain, but it is not included in the meal plan.
- The hotel has WiFi throughout and there is an internet room with several terminals.
- Bring a 220 converter for appliances. The adapter has two round pegs. Rooms in the hotel have hair dryers.
- No need for boot dryers as Portillo has a great ski and boot concierge.
- This time of year it can be spring skiing or full-on winter. Chino suggests layering options or even two ski outfits.
- After dinner, there is music in the bar before music starts in the disco about 11pm.
- The swimming pool and hot tub are heated and great after skiing.
- Tipping for housekeeping is at your discretion and can be done at the end of our stay.
- Any appreciation for the coaches may be collected by John but know that it will all go to his coaches.
- Crystal is available to handle all your questions, suggestions, rants (we hope not) and raves.
- Read the book "Four Words for Great Skiing" and watch the video "Finding the Love Spot" - there will be a test.
